This leadership role is responsible for advancing philanthropic opportunities across a health care setting by connecting organizational priorities with donor-focused funding strategies. The position works closely with clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders to identify needs, shape funding opportunities, and turn complex priorities into clear, compelling cases for support.
The Director will guide the development of the function’s priorities, standards, and processes so that the organization maintains a strong pipeline of opportunities aligned with campaign goals and fundraising plans. This includes overseeing the creation of proposals, campaign materials, and other communications that explain the need, expected impact, and funding requirements in a way that resonates with donors.
A key part of the role is leading a team, setting direction, clarifying responsibilities, and supporting the growth of staff as the function evolves. The Director will also work with frontline fundraisers to ensure opportunities are matched to donor strategies and solicitation timing.
The successful candidate will bring a post-secondary education in a relevant field and several years of progressive experience in fundraising, philanthropy, communications, health care, or strategic partnership development. Strong relationship-building skills, sound judgment, and the ability to lead cross-functional work are essential. Experience using data to monitor progress, improve processes, and support planning is also important.
