The Director of Human Resources leads people strategy for a property and works closely with senior leadership to support business goals. This role provides broad HR expertise across talent acquisition, workforce planning, performance management, employee development, and organizational change. The position requires a hands-on leader who can work independently, build practical HR processes, and guide managers in making sound staffing and people decisions.
Key responsibilities include translating business priorities into HR plans, supporting engagement and retention efforts, and helping shape succession and workforce planning. The role also partners with hiring leaders on recruitment strategy, interviewing, candidate selection, and staffing needs, while ensuring compensation and benefits considerations are addressed appropriately. In addition, this leader monitors employee data and HR systems, oversees the use of HR tools by managers and staff, and helps ensure consistent execution of HR programs and policies.
The position typically requires either an associate degree with significant relevant HR or operations experience, or a bachelor’s degree with less experience in a related field. Strong communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills are important, along with the ability to influence stakeholders and support a high-performing workplace.
