Director of Field Operations

This leadership role oversees field execution for a technical services organization that supports infrastructure projects. Reporting to senior leadership, you will manage several experienced managers and be accountable for how field work is planned, staffed, coordinated, and delivered across multiple regions. You will guide team leaders, build stronger accountability, and help crews work with confidence and consistency. The role includes overseeing crews, vehicles, equipment, and schedules while maintaining safe, reliable delivery. You will also work to improve operating practices, reduce delays and rework, and strengthen training so teams can perform more effectively. A key part of the job is helping new tools and process changes take hold in day-to-day operations. You will partner with internal technology and operations teams to test improvements, support adoption, and ensure they translate into practical results in the field. In addition, you will manage budget considerations, resource allocation, subcontractor activity, and delivery costs. This position suits someone with significant operations leadership experience in telecommunications, utilities, construction, engineering, geomatics, or a related field. You should have a background in safety-sensitive environments, managing budgets and performance, and developing managers. A degree or equivalent experience is preferred. The base salary is approximately CAD $140,000 to $160,000, with additional bonus and benefits offered.
