Director of Corporate Services and Treasurer

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, this senior leadership role is responsible for guiding financial and corporate service operations and serving as the organization’s Treasurer. The position provides strategic advice to senior leadership and elected officials to support sound decisions, long-term financial stability, and effective service delivery. It also oversees a broad portfolio that includes budgeting, accounting, procurement, revenue administration, financial planning, risk management, information technology, and the strategic direction of fleet and facility-related functions. The successful candidate will ensure financial practices meet all required legislation, regulations, and professional standards. Key responsibilities include leading the annual operating and capital budget process, reviewing departmental submissions, preparing financial reports, and maintaining strong internal controls, cash management, and investment oversight. The role also supports continuous improvement and organizational effectiveness by identifying opportunities to strengthen systems, processes, and service delivery. This position manages departmental staff and helps shape workforce planning, performance management, succession planning, and professional development. It requires a collaborative leader who can build accountability, support a high-performing team, and contribute to broader corporate priorities. Strong financial judgment, public sector experience, and the ability to work effectively with executive leadership and Council are essential.
