Director of Compliance

We are seeking an experienced compliance leader to oversee a regulatory team responsible for investigations, complaints handling, practice reviews, and related enforcement activities. Reporting to senior legal leadership, this role combines strategic direction with hands-on operational oversight and is well suited to someone who can lead at both the policy and delivery level. In this position, you will guide a team of investigators and review specialists, ensuring work is conducted fairly, consistently, and in line with applicable legislation and regulatory requirements. You will help shape departmental priorities, support ongoing improvement of systems and processes, and contribute to broader organizational planning as a member of the leadership group. The role requires a people-focused manager who can coach staff, set clear expectations, and maintain high standards for quality and timeliness. You should bring experience working in investigations, complaint resolution, enforcement, or a similar regulatory environment, along with strong judgment in complex or sensitive matters. The ability to interpret legal and regulatory requirements and turn them into practical procedures is important. You will also help prepare reports and recommendations for decision-makers, support educational initiatives that encourage compliance, and build productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This is an office-based role in a major Canadian city.
