Director of Autonomy

We are seeking a Director of Autonomy to lead our autonomy organization. This role involves managing the entire autonomy team, which includes Perception, Prediction, Planning, Controls, and Localization. The successful candidate will own the technical direction across the stack and be accountable for both the technical roadmap and team performance, reporting directly to senior engineering leadership. This is a hands-on leadership position that requires a leader with strong technical expertise and experience in managing, hiring, and scaling an autonomy organization. Responsibilities include setting the multi-year technical strategy for the autonomy stack, managing team execution and structure, and serving as the primary interface for cross-functional collaboration with Systems, Safety, Platform, Hardware, Simulation, and Product teams. Candidates should have over 15 years of experience in building production autonomy systems, with a proven track record of delivering autonomy components in real-world applications. Experience managing teams of 15 or more engineers and end-to-end ownership of autonomy stacks is essential. Proficiency in modern deep learning, ROS/ROS 2, and software engineering in C++ and Python is preferred.
