Director, Internal Audit

We are seeking a senior audit leader to oversee an internal audit function and provide independent assurance on the strength of controls, governance, and risk management practices. This role is responsible for building and maintaining a risk-based audit plan, supervising audit activities, and ensuring reports and recommendations are delivered clearly to executive leadership and the board. The successful candidate will work across the organization to evaluate key processes, identify control gaps, and support improvements that strengthen operational effectiveness and protect organizational assets. A major part of the role will involve reviewing financial reporting controls, assessing whether they are designed and operating effectively, and coordinating follow-up on findings. This position requires strong professional judgment, a broad understanding of business operations, and the ability to build trusted relationships with senior leaders and board members. You will need to balance independence with collaboration, communicate findings in a practical way, and help drive meaningful action on audit recommendations. Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field, have a recognized accounting designation, and bring substantial experience in auditing or financial control environments. Professional internal audit certification and knowledge of recognized audit and control frameworks are also required. Strong analytical, investigative, and communication skills are essential.
