This senior leadership position is responsible for guiding the organization’s people strategy and acting as a trusted advisor to executive leadership. Reporting to the chief executive, the Director of Human Resources will oversee the full HR function, balancing strategic direction with day-to-day operational leadership in a lean environment. The role supports workforce planning, organizational design, culture development, employee engagement, and overall HR effectiveness.
Working closely with executive leaders and board-level stakeholders, this person will help shape policies, programs, and governance practices that align talent priorities with business goals. The role also provides counsel on staffing needs, succession planning, compensation and benefits, and broader workforce risks and opportunities. A key part of the position is improving HR processes so they remain responsive, compliant, and well suited to a growing organization.
The successful candidate will lead or support change initiatives, promote an inclusive and respectful workplace, and ensure HR services are delivered with consistency and care. This role requires strong judgment, broad HR expertise, and the ability to influence decisions through practical, people-focused advice. It is well suited to someone who can combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution in a collaborative public-sector or mission-driven environment.
