This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administration, coordination, and delivery of child, youth, and family support programs. The successful candidate will help guide service growth so the department can respond to changing community needs, while also ensuring operations remain effective and well organized.
Key duties include building plans and budgets, developing partnerships, preparing reports and proposals, and supporting the delivery of individual service plans. The role also involves reviewing research and best practices related to family wellbeing, helping shape models for future program delivery, and contributing to the creation of policies, agreements, and other operational documents. In addition, the position represents the organization in discussions with external partners, funding bodies, and working groups as needed.
Applicants should have a post-secondary degree in a relevant field such as social work, human services, public administration, or a related discipline, along with comparable education and experience. A minimum of three years’ experience in child and family services or a similar environment is preferred, ideally with supervisory or management experience. Strong budgeting, planning, leadership, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills are important. Familiarity with the social and health challenges affecting Indigenous communities, and the ability to work respectfully in a cross-cultural setting, are also valued.
