The Development Finance Coordinator supports the administration of development charges, related financial reporting, and budget coordination. Working closely with planning, building, finance, and other internal teams, this role helps ensure compliance with applicable legislation and supports the preparation of studies, by-laws, and other required documentation.
Responsibilities include reviewing financial and revenue information, preparing projections and analytical reports, and monitoring reserve fund activity, debt levels, and funding sustainability. The position also helps integrate approved growth-related projects into multi-year planning, checks budget timing and funding sources, and provides recommendations on the use of development charge funds in capital planning.
The role prepares spreadsheets, models, and other analysis to assess cash flow and overall fund health, while also monitoring permit activity against revenue forecasts. It supports rate monitoring and indexing, assists with claim and payment processing, and helps track outstanding items in financial systems. Additional duties include supporting committee meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, liaising with internal stakeholders on financial matters, maintaining web content, and contributing to process improvements, procedures, and user guides.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience with financial systems and reporting, and the ability to work with legislation, policies, and operational processes in a public-sector environment.
