Daytime Household Assistant & Senior Companion

Daytime household assistant and senior companion needed for a full-time daytime role in Vancouver, BC. The schedule will be determined. This position involves providing practical household support and companionship to a senior family member. Responsibilities include preparing nutritious meals and snacks, shopping for groceries and household supplies, performing light housekeeping and laundry, and helping maintain a clean, safe, and organized home. The role also includes offering conversation and social engagement, encouraging daily walks and light physical activity, supporting healthy routines, and providing reminders for medication and hydration. General wellness should be monitored, with any concerns communicated to family members. Additional duties include driving the senior to appointments, errands, and social outings, helping coordinate schedules, and assisting with day-to-day tasks and occasional special requests. The ideal candidate is fluent in Mandarin and English, has a valid BC driver’s licence with a clean driving record, and brings experience in household management, senior care, caregiving, hospitality, or a related field. Strong cooking, organization, time management, and communication skills are important. A compassionate, patient, dependable, and professional approach is essential. First Aid and CPR certification is an asset. Compensation is competitive and based on experience, with paid vacation and statutory holidays in line with BC employment standards.
