Database Engineer

We are seeking a Database Engineer to support the development, maintenance, and modernization of enterprise database platforms. This role involves working across large-scale relational database environments, with a focus on improving performance, reliability, and operational efficiency. You will be responsible for tuning queries, refining indexing approaches, reviewing workload behavior, and supporting capacity planning efforts. The position also includes designing, testing, and rolling out database changes with an emphasis on stability and quality. As part of broader platform evolution initiatives, you will contribute to upgrade activities, patching, and migration work toward newer data platforms where appropriate. Additional responsibilities include building automation and standardized processes to support cloud-based database delivery, along with helping improve readiness for production operations. The work is carried out in an agile setting where delivery speed matters, but strong controls and dependable outcomes remain important. The ideal candidate brings several years of database engineering or performance-focused experience, along with solid scripting ability in Python and a working understanding of Unix/Linux. Familiarity with data modeling, replication concepts, and version control is an asset.
