Data Engineer

We are seeking a Data Engineer to join a small, high-autonomy team focused on building and maintaining reliable data infrastructure. In this role, you will design, develop, and operate the data transformation and storage layer that supports analytics, automation, and AI-driven workflows. You will work with cloud data warehouses, relational databases, and external business tools to create clean, well-documented datasets. Core responsibilities include writing and maintaining advanced SQL, building transformation models with a modern analytics engineering approach, and managing scheduled jobs, stored procedures, and reusable data routines. You will also help improve query performance, reduce warehouse costs, and keep pipelines efficient as data volumes grow. The position includes ownership of orchestration and monitoring for data workflows, along with testing, documentation, and lineage tracking for production datasets. You will collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver dependable data products and ensure downstream teams have the information they need in the right format. This role is based in Canada and offers a hybrid setup, with remote work possible for candidates outside the Greater Toronto Area. We are looking for someone with strong SQL skills, experience with data modeling and pipeline orchestration, and a practical approach to data quality, reliability, and operational support.
