Cultivation Lead
The Cultivation Lead is responsible for overseeing daily operations within a designated growing area and carrying out tasks involved in the cultivation process. Reporting to the Cultivation Supervisor, this role supports safe work practices and helps ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and production quality requirements.
Key responsibilities include guiding cultivation technicians in the care and maintenance of mother plants, propagations, young plants, and flowering crops; training team members on proper task execution; delegating and supervising daily activities; helping maintain site security measures; and communicating regularly with management regarding updates, issues, and observations.
The ideal candidate will have a degree or diploma in horticulture, plant biology, biological sciences, agricultural science, or a related field, along with at least 4 years of supervisor or lead experience in a large-scale greenhouse environment. Experience in problem-solving roles is required. Knowledge of good production practices and good manufacturing practices is preferred. Strong understanding of plant nutrients and deficiency symptoms is important, as is the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of staff and work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
This is a greenhouse-based role that may involve exposure to heat, light, and humidity, and occasional weekend or holiday work. The position is physically demanding and may require lifting up to 50 lbs. Hourly wage: $22–$24, based on experience.
