Controller

We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee accounting operations, strengthen financial reporting, and support leadership with analysis and planning. This role works closely with senior finance leadership and plays a key part in maintaining effective controls, improving processes, and ensuring timely month-end and year-end activity. The successful candidate will manage core accounting tasks, including reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and the close process. You will review monthly results, investigate variances, identify trends, and provide useful insights to guide business decisions. You will also help prepare annual budgets, monitor performance against plan, and support forecasting and cost control efforts. This position includes responsibility for maintaining and improving internal controls, supporting audit and review activities, and documenting accounting procedures. Additional duties include oversight of insurance-related accounting matters, review of payables activity, and management of fixed asset and debt schedules. You will also help train and support finance and administrative staff. The ideal candidate holds a Canadian CPA designation and has several years of experience in a construction or project-based environment. Strong knowledge of financial reporting, accounting best practices, and ERP systems is required, along with excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and a proactive approach to solving problems and improving processes.
