We are seeking an experienced supervisor to oversee a public safety communications team in a fast-paced emergency dispatch environment. This role provides daily guidance, coaching, and operational support to frontline telecommunicators while helping maintain reliable service delivery and strong internal standards.
Key responsibilities include supervising staff during assigned shifts, monitoring call-handling activity, and helping ensure the centre remains properly staffed and ready to respond. The supervisor will support scheduling and workflow decisions, observe day-to-day performance, and work with management to address operational issues, improve procedures, and maintain compliance with applicable laws, policies, and regulatory requirements.
This position also plays a role in quality assurance by reviewing work, offering feedback, and supporting training and performance development. The successful candidate will help identify equipment or system issues, report concerns promptly, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts across the communications centre. Clear communication, sound judgment, and the ability to work collaboratively are essential.
Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, eligibility to work in Canada, strong computer skills, accurate keyboarding ability, excellent verbal and written communication, and the ability to complete a hearing assessment. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel are also required. Shift work is part of this position.
