Commercial Underwriter

We are seeking a Commercial Underwriter to support the assessment and pricing of a wide range of business insurance risks. In this role, you will review submissions, analyze exposure information, and help determine appropriate coverage terms, rates, and policy changes within established program guidelines. You will work closely with relationship managers and internal underwriting colleagues to deliver timely, accurate support and maintain a strong service experience for partners and clients. The ideal candidate brings solid experience in commercial underwriting, a strong grasp of rating and risk evaluation, and the ability to make well-reasoned decisions with limited supervision. You should be comfortable handling new business, renewals, and policy adjustments while keeping documentation accurate and compliant with applicable requirements. Attention to detail, sound judgment, and effective organization are essential. This position also offers the opportunity to contribute to process improvements, share insights on emerging trends, and support broader operational initiatives. You will collaborate in a team environment, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and help ensure underwriting practices remain consistent, efficient, and aligned with current regulations. Requirements include a relevant insurance license, experience in commercial lines underwriting, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently. Experience in a brokerage, managing general agency, carrier, or similar insurance setting is an asset.
