Commercial Kitchen Designer

We are looking for an experienced designer to create practical foodservice kitchen spaces from initial concept through to final delivery. This role involves working with clients and a range of project stakeholders to develop layouts that support efficient operations, meet regulatory requirements, and fit within broader construction plans. Based in Winnipeg with occasional travel across Manitoba, the position includes preparing detailed drawings and documentation for commercial kitchen projects in sectors such as hospitality, healthcare, education, retail, and institutional facilities. You will translate client needs into workable plans, review architectural and technical information, and adjust designs as projects progress. Core responsibilities include producing layout and installation drawings, coordinating utility and ventilation needs, preparing schedules and specifications, and ensuring designs align with relevant codes, standards, and manufacturer guidance. Site visits may be required to confirm measurements and existing conditions. The successful candidate will bring several years of related design experience, strong drafting skills in a computer-aided design environment, and a solid understanding of foodservice equipment, kitchen workflow, and building system coordination. The ability to interpret architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings is important, along with strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills. A competitive salary in the range of $60,000 to $80,000 is offered, depending on experience, along with competitive benefits, retirement support, paid vacation, and stable full-time employment.
