Civil Estimator

We are seeking a motivated Civil Estimator to join a busy heavy civil construction team in the Waterloo Region, ON area. This is a full-time position with benefits and the opportunity to support a wide range of infrastructure and site development projects. In this role, you will work closely with ownership, project managers, field staff, and clients from initial quantity take-offs through to final bid preparation. Responsibilities include preparing detailed cost estimates for earthmoving, grading, site servicing, sewer and watermain, concrete, demolition, and aggregates; reviewing drawings, specifications, and contract documents; sourcing pricing from suppliers and subcontractors; identifying risks and opportunities during the bid process; coordinating constructability details with project teams; and attending pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of civil estimating experience and strong knowledge of civil construction methods, including earthwork, underground utilities, grading, and site servicing. Accuracy with take-offs, solid reading of civil drawings and specifications, and familiarity with applicable codes and standards are important. Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required, and experience with estimating software is an asset. Strong communication, organization, and time management skills are essential. A related diploma is preferred. Reliable transportation is needed for a rural work location. Competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and professional development are offered.
