Business Development Director, Full-Time
Reporting to the VP of Business Development, this role is responsible for prospecting, closing, and onboarding new business opportunities. The Business Development Director serves as the main contact for new referrals and inquiries, leading the prospecting process and supporting the ongoing relationship with clients as their portfolio grows. This position works closely with leadership, admissions, client care, referral relations, and other internal teams to convert referrals and inquiries into active accounts.
Key responsibilities include identifying key organizations, funding mechanisms, and market segments to support business development strategy; leading outreach to large and mid-market corporate portfolios; managing inbound leads from marketing and assigned business segments; and providing recommendations to improve reporting, processes, and new business approaches. The role also participates in professional development planning.
Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, public safety, or a related field preferred, along with 5+ years of business development or sales experience, ideally in mental health and addictions. Strong knowledge of corporate benefit plans and related needs is preferred, as well as proven success in sales and partnerships. The ideal candidate will have strong territory mapping and data analysis skills, excellent communication and negotiation abilities, and the ability to build trust with stakeholders at all levels. Experience with a CRM system such as Salesforce is an asset. Some travel may be required.
