Building Electrical Engineer

Join a multidisciplinary team working on the planning and delivery of building construction and renovation projects. In this role, you will contribute to projects from early feasibility review through to design documents and construction follow-up. Your work will involve a range of public facilities, including buildings, park-related assets and sports areas. Your responsibilities will include analyzing, planning and overseeing each stage of assigned projects, from site investigation and design through to contract documents, environmental considerations, economic analysis and execution of the work. You will also coordinate the activities of outside professionals and contractors involved in the projects. In addition, you will take part in efforts to improve the performance and design of new builds and building restorations, with attention to energy efficiency and sustainable practices. The ideal candidate holds a university degree in a relevant engineering field, has at least four years of experience related to buildings, and is a member in good standing of the professional engineering order. Knowledge of sustainable development principles is important, and familiarity with building information modeling would be an asset. Strong teamwork, autonomy, organization, analytical ability and written and spoken French are required. A valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle are also needed for occasional travel as part of the job.
