We are seeking an experienced aquatics leader to coordinate recreational and instructional pool programs. This full-time role involves overseeing day-to-day program delivery, helping plan course schedules, supporting staff, and making sure activities meet community needs and facility standards. The successful candidate will work closely with management to organize, implement, and review programs, while maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for participants of all ages.
The ideal applicant has a high school diploma or equivalent, current lifeguard and swim instruction credentials, first aid and CPR training, WHMIS certification, and a clean vulnerable sector check. At least two years of related supervisory experience is required, along with prior experience as both an instructor and lifeguard. Experience developing and delivering progressive aquatic courses is important. Additional aquatic leadership, facility operations, coaching, or instructor-trainer certifications would be considered an asset, as would experience with recreation software. Strong English communication skills are expected, and knowledge of Inuktitut is preferred.
This position offers competitive hourly pay, a standard 35-hour work week, and additional allowances. Preference may be given to qualified local beneficiaries in line with applicable agreement provisions. Equivalency through a mix of education and experience may also be considered.
