Accounting Manager

We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to lead daily accounting operations for a growing manufacturing organization in the Dartmouth area of Nova Scotia. This is a hands-on management role with responsibility for the accuracy of financial records, the quality of reporting, and the smooth operation of core accounting processes. The successful candidate will work with senior leaders and a small accounting team to support month-end and year-end close, prepare and review financial statements and related schedules, and ensure reconciliations, journal entries, and other routine tasks are completed on time. The role also covers oversight of payables, receivables, inventory-related accounting, cost accounting, and internal controls. This position requires someone who is comfortable digging into transaction details, identifying discrepancies, and improving workflows and system usage. You will help maintain organized records, support external year-end requirements, and ensure routine tax and statutory filings are completed accurately and on schedule. Experience with manufacturing environments is an asset, as the role involves understanding how purchasing, inventory, production, and sales activity affect the accounting function. In addition, the Accounting Manager will provide coaching and support to team members, encourage clear processes, and work with other departments to resolve accounting and systems issues.
